There continues to be a large gap in this country between those needing treatment for a drug-related problem and those actually receiving it. In 2016, an estimated 21.0 million Americans needed treatment for a drug-related problem, but only 3.8 million people actually received treatment (SAMHSA, 2017). Discuss what you think are some major reasons why there is such a discrepancy between needing and receiving treatment for drug addiction.
