Yes, it does.

Herpes is a virus that can be transmitted by skin to skin contact or by sexual activity. You cannot get herpes from using an infected person’s towels or handkerchief because the virus dies quickly outside of the body.

The virus then will invade your skin and cause painful sores on whatever skin part it has invaded. Treatment for this is typically taking the drug called Acyclovir, an antiviral medication which can be taken orally, intradermally by ointment or cream and by intravenous route. Consult a doctor first, preferably a dermatologist to prescribe this to you. Do not be your own doctor if you have the capability to consult one and pay.
